OMC BOCES Inducts 154 Thompson Road Campus CTE & New Vision Scholars into National Technical Honor Society

OCM BOCES welcomed 154 students into the National Technical Honor Society today, celebrating their dedication, character and success in a variety of hands-on, career-focused programs.

To be eligible, students needed to maintain a minimum grade average of 85, have strong attendance, receive a teacher recommendation and demonstrate values like respect, responsibility, honesty, leadership, citizenship, skill and service.

The ceremony was held at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College, where families, friends and school administrators from across the OCM BOCES region gathered to celebrate. During the event, students lit candles symbolizing the seven core attributes of NTHS and received honor cords and tassels to wear at their home district graduations.

The honorees are enrolled in Career & Technical Education and New Vision programs at the Thompson Road Campus. Areas of study include:

Auto Collision Technology; Automotive Technology; Computer Technology; Construction Technology; Cosmetology; Culinary & Pastry Arts; Early Childhood Education; Firefighting & Emergency Medical Technician; Health Occupations; Heavy Equipment Repair, Operations & Diesel Technology; Laboratory Technician; Media Marketing Communications; New Vision Criminal Justice; New Vision Engineering Professions; New Vision Medical Professions; Physical Therapy Professions; and Welding Technology.

OCM BOCES congratulates all the students on this well-deserved recognition. Students from the Cortlandville Campus will be honored next, during a ceremony on April 10 in the school’s auditorium.
